11/18/2023 0 Comments B5 s4 ttv flywheel vibration![]() ![]() I'm tired of light weight, I just want something heavy now to make dealing with steep hill starts easier again. The TTV one is 12lbs, the RA4 from ECS is 12lbs, the one from JHM is 9lbs. the RA4 flywheel would be a problem for trying to use the B7 RS4 pressure plate. I would really like a heavier flywheel like the 18.5lbs one Mike Hood sells () but he said the height difference vs. I would like to get a "heavy" single mass flywheel and stock-like clutch setup and I'm interested in the B7 RS4 clutch kit since it seems quite affordable for what it provides. There are a handful of engines in Audi’s and VW’s that have faulty torque converters, often referred to as TC, so it isn’t too common but is apparent in automatic B5 S4’s. I asked him to let me test my driveshaft on his car. A friend of mine has a B5 S4 with an OEM driveshaft and zero vibration issues. ![]() but the flywheel options seem to be 12lbs and lighter. I have 800 in a TTV flywheel and B5 RS4 clutch. After reinstalling the driveshaft and centering everything the best I possibly could, the ride was harsh and I started to feel intense (laughable) vibrations at 30-40mph and pretty rough vibration at highway speeds. I've read the threads like B7-RS4-pressure-plate-(clutch-disk-too-)-RA4-flywheel ((clutch-disk-too-)-RA4-flywheel) etc. I love my set up, it is by far the best clutch I ever had and I went through quite a few setups, including twin disc which was a horrible to drive thing.Does anyone know of a 240mm flywheel conversion for the B5 A4 1.8T that is heavier than 12lbs and works with either B5 S4/RS4 or B7 RS4 clutch kits? Stage 3+ which is the same but the pucks are feramic (or ceramic, I forget) and then lighter 6 puck disc that has the most holding capacity. My set up is tial 770 with logs showing slightly north of 600WTQ in coldest winter to wheels, it is happy with AMD stage 3 set up which is "fibertuff" full disc, which means eight large pucks of friction material on a full face plate. That can easily put out 600WTQ / 750 crank TQ which will overwhelm everything but top notch TQ holding offering from AMD or dual/triple clutches. For my setup, Ill be going with the following: TTV 2. However, through some research, there seems to be a debate on what flywheel bolts should be used and clearance issues. If your goals are modest torque, you'll probably be happy with TTV B5 FW with B7 top and stock B7 RS4 PP + some more aggressive disc. When Im doing my build, Im highly considering going with a TTV Steel flywheel and B7 RS4 clutch setup. I do know a lot of people would recommend the AMD or JHM clutch combo, but from what I can see, both setups are B7 RS4 Pressure Plates (with AMD's being modified for B5 flywheel use) and an upgraded disk.ĪMD kit is B7 RS4 pressure plate with two modifications to it:ġ) modded plate, rivets and straps so it fits B5 FWĢ) modified diaphragm to exert more force The car will be making E85 K24/RS6 with rods power but this setup should be sufficient without breaking the bank. Opinions? Obviously a 6-puck disk would be able to hold more power, but at the expense of driveability. Looking for the best disk that will offer smooth engagement but still be able to hold a launch. I have 800 in a TTV flywheel and B5 RS4 clutch. TTV Racing Flywheel - Audi S4 - RS4 B5 2.7T Lite to B7 RS4 Clutch. It was faint, but it was definitely there. Should OEM bolts suffice in this situation? Any clearance issues with the crank due to bolt length, or the clutch disk itself? I had a ttv with a OE rs4 clutch that had some chatter up to about 2k rpm. ![]() TTV 2.7T to B7 Steel Lightweight FlywheelĬlutchnet Disk (Either full faced Feramic, Kevlar, or 6-puck**) However, through some research, there seems to be a debate on what flywheel bolts should be used and clearance issues.įor my setup, I'll be going with the following: When I'm doing my build, I'm highly considering going with a TTV Steel flywheel and B7 RS4 clutch setup. ![]()
